Personal information

Beekeeping is not exactly an everyday profession or activity for young people.

However, I myself was enticed to working with bees after my very first contact with them. Beekeeping therefore represents my way of life ever since 1992, when I started with two bee colonies. Today I have 500 colonies.

Although my parents assist me in my work, apiculture is not our family tradition, so I had to start from scratch. I simply became so enthralled with bees and everything associated with them that I wished to work with bees on a professional basis. In 1997 I also started to transport bees to various regions of Slovenia. With four transport units (three trucks and container) I frequently rellocate 240 colonies. In addition to making various sorts of honey, I also produce pollen, beeswax, propolis, and each spring I also sell a couple of colonies.

With each passing year working with bees, I gain valuable experience and I read various literature on apiculture in order to hone my skill in the field of work I hold so dear. I have also gained a lot of experience and important knowledge under the tutelage of two distinguished beekeepers – Matej Blejc from Mengeš and Jože Klančar from Polje by Ljubljana.

I believe that quality work requires knowledge, experience, as well as love for one`s profession. I became excited about bees after my first contact with them and since then, they have become an integral part of my life. The confirmation of the high quality of my products and the satisfaction of my customers provide me with additional motivation for my continued work and investment of  effort and expression of joy for my life companions – the bees.
